Pool Plaster and Finishes
McGee Pool and Patio has a wide range of materials and colors to resurface your pool and/or spa. Our crews are highly experienced in applying all the plaster products in the pool industry.
Traditional Swimming Pool Plaster
Plaster is one of the most widely used swimming pool surface materials. Plaster is made from Portland white cement and crushed marble sand to produce a smooth look and texture. New technologies such as quartz, pebble and modified pool surface alternatives have given pool owners alternate options, but plaster is still the most popular and economical.
Plaster lasts on average 9 to 12 years, though some surfaces can hold their integrity for upwards of 20 years with proper care and maintenance.
As with all swimming pool surfaces, the proper pool chemistry affects the longevity of the surface. Pool owners should consider other variables rather than water clarity while maintaining a pool. Maintaining the proper PH balances and alkalinity levels drastically improves the life span of a pool surface.
Products like Silicone Shield and Pozzolan additives can also help prevent pool plaster discoloration.
At McGee, we can inspect, maintain and service your pool to ensure the life of its surface and features.
