Outdoor Lighting Types
General Lighting
General lighting provides a broader range of coverage for outdoor dining areas, porches, decks or outdoor kitchens.
Task Lighting
Task lighting is used for specific tasks such as cooking or an area with more activity, lights are brighter and the beam of light has a more narrow range of coverage.
Path Lighting
Path and step lighting is for pathways, walkways and steps, which will need to be lit for safety and usability at night. These lights provide more illumination and overall coverage, though the light is more dim and soft.
Accent Lighting
Accent lighting is used to draw attention to specifically chosen architectural elements such as water features, structures, unique trees or pool elements. The light is bright with a narrow range of coverage.
Ambient Lighting
Ambient lighting is used for atmosphere and is a soft and low light. Candles, strings of party lights and other lights that flicker are used for this purpose. This type of lighting can be used anywhere to create a more charming or magical atmosphere. These lights are fantastic as their light is cast across a pool of water.
